Portraits of Pride is a participatory portrait studio where attendees are invited to create self-portraits using mirrors, drawing materials, and creative prompts focused on identity and self-expression. Participants may also choose to be photographed with their artwork as part of a community gallery documenting the event.Â
SammyJo Miller is a southwest Minnesota visual artist and arts educator whose work focuses on drawing, painting, and participatory community art experiences. Through workshops, public events, and collaborative projects, she creates welcoming creative spaces that encourage observation, self-expression, and community connection.Â
This activity is made possible by a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council with funds from The McKnight Foundation.Â

You've gotta see the mermaid who has pledged to come to Marshall Pride this year! Grown ups can make a free will donation to help fund Pride and receive a mystical fortune from the mystical creature. Kids can come say hello and enjoy a free trinket from the mermaid!
